DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS

 

1.     Has the church lost credibility in our day?  Where is hypocrisy most seen in the church today?  On what issues does the church need to repent and seek forgiveness? 

 

2.     Eli’s sons’ problem was chiefly a refusal to listen when confronted.  What can we do to keep ourselves and our community from becoming hard hearted like this?

 

3.     Does it scare you to think that our egregious unfaithfulness could nullify God’s promise of salvation?  How does that work?

 

4.     Who are the “Samuel’s” that you see in life?  Who are the people who are quietly, silently serving the Lord around you, reminding you that God is working in the midst of all the problems, struggles, and challenges? 

 

5.     How does God’s “yearly answer” to Hannah make you feel?  What does it show about God’s character?
