PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Leader: Father, knowing you love us and care for us is what drives our fears away.

All:        But when times are difficult, we let our fears control us, and then we also forget to follow up and care for others.

Leader: Please forgive us for becoming bitter and angry when life isn’t the way we want it to be.

All:        Help us to trust in you, especially when we’re afraid.  Help us to remember that you are in control, and that you are causing all things to work together for our good.

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

1 John 4:18; 1John 3:16

18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
