Faith and Work Sermon Series—“I HATE WORK!!!” Sundays 4/11, 4/18, 4/25

It doesn’t take long for people to tell you why they hate work—even the Bible says that our work has been cursed.  In three Sundays we’re going to tackle the three biggest complaints about work.  Scripture offers us perspectives that can radically change how we think and feel and act about/in the workplace.   Here are the complaints we’ll answer:

1. “I hate work”April 11th

2. “I hate my job"April 18th

3. “I hate the people at my work”April 25th

This practical series is a great opportunity to invite friends to Harbor!

Membership Sunday: April 18th

Are you ready to become a member of Harbor Church?  If you have attended a Welcome to Harbor Seminar, the next step is to complete an application for church membership.  Please contact Cynthia at the Church Office, 619-699-5952. After completing the application, an interview with one of the pastors or elders will be scheduled.  Then you can make your membership promises on Membership Sunday.

4 week class on discipleship begins April 18

Meets after worship service at the church office (964 5th Ave.). We believe that the Gospel changes everything - this class will be an introduction to exploring how 'everything' is being changed in the life of a believer. If you are interested, contact Jim Hopkins ( or call 619 807-0144).

Dining Out for Life! Thursday, April 29

One night a year, 100 restaurants across the city donate a percentage of their proceeds to AIDS prevention and care services in San Diego. Harbor Downtown will be at  Richard Walker’s Pancake House for dinner (5-9pm) and our job will be to pack it out! Make plans to be there and invite your friends to join us in showing support and care for a worthy cause.

MINISTRY TRAINING & EDUCATION - HARBOR'S LAMP SEMINARY

Ever want to deepen your understanding of the bible or be better equipped for ministry? Wish you could learn and earn a degree without the high cost and relocation? Now it's possible through Harbor's LAMP program. LAMP stands for Leadership and Ministry Preparation and offers comprehensive graduate level training and education at a low cost. Students do most of the coursework on their own time, and attend interactive, mentor-guided classes led by a Harbor pastor once a week during each 6-week course.  LAMP is structured so that a student can earn a degree in 5-6 years.  Classes are also open to anyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of Scripture and effectiveness in ministry. First class will begin this October!
